This is the response I added back on 01-11-2008 ... I am unsure why it did not stick here. (it was sent back via email to the person who sent me the followup question)
--- By freeze, I mean the import process appears to freeze and all functionality is lost. It is not really frozen, just moving extremely slowly. The best way to describe it is if the machine has run out of physical memory and temporary HD swap space and it is fighting to swap around memory to continue on with the process. During the import process, when it reaches 3000 songs and it is moving slowly, if I remove the songs that were already imported, all functionality returns and it continues to pull in the songs that it had not imported yet. --- -- Importing 3000+ songs from windows network folder https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/179282 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to rhythmbox in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
