Public bug reported: Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Unconfirmed
Description: In warty (and possibly hoary), when I had a file without an extension, nautilus would look inside the file to determine its MIME type, and launch the appropriate application to view it when doubleclicked. In breezy, this is not the case anymore. If I have (for example) a PDF or PostScript file without an extension, its type doesn't seem to get detected. The file HAS to have the proper file extension (.pdf or .ps) -- Stopped recognising MIME types by file content https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/37448 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
