Me too same problem - I'm running Linux Mint OS, and Evolution mail. Error Message, The Evolution addressbook has quit unexpectedly.
(Your contacts for file:///home/chris/.evolution/addressbook/local/system will not be available until Evolution is restarted) Tried to search contacts by using the “Show” category drop down menu as I have used this a bit more, thinking it would be easy to find 'groups'. The "Search" drop down works OK for me. Then error message comes up and Evolution must be closed and restarted. The bottom left corner says "Searching" with the active icon running. Repeatable 100% of the time. Running 2.12.1 version.
