You have been subscribed to a public bug: When I print a PDF file using Evince in Ubuntu Gutsy 7.10 x86_64, the program prints contents intended to be displayed on-screen only. I often use pdflatex to generate PDF files, and I use a LaTeX package named hyperref that formats links as PDF links. All PDF links are represented on screen as boxes that should not be printed. However, from 7.10, Evince started to print the boxes. The only workaround is to regenerate the PDF file without the hyperref package, or use Adobe Reader. This is especially annoying for PDF for which I do not have the source, and taking into account that Adobe Reader is far from the ideal PDF solution, especially for a x86_64 system. I tried with xpdf, and kpdf: same effect. It seems the bug is in Poppler, which is used by the three program. Is there any other workaround than downloading and recompiling packages from source code; I do not have time for this, unfortunately.
