Can you reproduce this issue with a new account, or after restart the X system
and/or your machine?, since you mention upgrades.
could you please specify which version of evolution are you using and the
"flavor" of Ubuntu, (Ubuntu, Kubuntu, etc) and the Codename, (Hardy, Gutsy,
Feisty, etc).
