thats one way to do it....maybe devs will realize how annoying this can be.
this bug needs instructions on how to approach self-diagnosing the problem. many people have removed all applets with no results. sweetsinse seemed to do an extremely thorough job and suggested it may be a problem with the compiz script used by ubuntu. has this been explored by any developers knowledgable in this area? looking at bootchart doesn't mean anything to me, if i go through the trouble of patching and installing it to analyze login will someone take a look? first though, how do i do that? I for one use both compiz and deskbar as i have since edgy, and i've still noticed a good 15-30sec jump in login time since moving from feisty. removing them doesnt seem to change much, but when you're talking about 45sec login vs 60sec its still waaayyyy too loooong. -- [Gutsy] very slow gnome startup https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/128803 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
