Hello everyone,

Thanks for all your comments, there are quite some new things I did not
do before.

Peter: I checked both places, but neither has any reference to Evince. I
only get the Restricted Drivers Manager, the Update Notifier, Print
Queue Applet and the Network Manager as autostarted applications.

Cody: Well I don't have save session enabled, because I thought it would
slow down my computer during restart. And I like a fresh start better.
But I would have tried your workaround solution, but Lionel's solution
worked as well...

Lionel: Running the command you gave me turned up;
/home/paul/.cache/sessions/xfce4-session-paul-laptop:0:Legacy0_Command=evince

About the cache; I completely removed Evince again, deleted the .config file of
Evince and then deleted the .cache file and restarted Xubuntu. That actually
worked! When I start Xubuntu now, Evince doesn't show up anymore, great!
Now I just have to remind myself not to close down Xubuntu while Evince is
still running, otherwise it might happen again.

By the way, under Synaptic package manager it is listed as evince-gtk
(without gnome support it says)... This is what came with Xubuntu 7.10
as far as I know.

Thanks for all the help! Fixed my problem (or bug ?)
