I'm trying to enable an external monitor through System -> Screens and
Graphics.
It detects (or does it really detect?) two screens and I configure the
external one to be at the left side of my laptop screen and that it is
attached to a syncmaster 225BW.
When restarting, nothing shows up on my syncmaster.
I tracked it down to the lines generated in my xorg.conf file:
Option "MonitorLayout" "CRT,LFP"
This fails because the external output is actually a DFP connected
through DVI. Manually editing it to
Option "MonitorLayout" "DFP,LFP"
does the trick.
Some related info:
Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo-SI 1520
Integrated Intel G945 graphics card through the i810 driver.
>From the generated line one starts to wonder if DVI actually works on
any setup? Although I can't test this myself.
