Comment: This is more than likely the same bug as https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+bug/27919 I have this problem (or a very similar one) on my desktop at home (but not on any other system I've installed dapper on) on a computer with an Nvidia card, using the "nv" driver. The original reporter of bug 27919 reported that he was using the "nv" driver as well. If this bug is actually in cairo, I'm not sure if the "nv" driver could have anything to do with it (I don't understand enough about cario/X-server/video is what I mean), but...
