I have a very similar problem. Account 1 uses SMTP 1, and account 2 SMTP 2. However whenever I want to reply from account 2 it uses SMTP 1, and unsuccessfully. I have to remove the message from the queue. Changing the default account in prefs changes the behavior so that SMTP 2 is always used rather than SMTP 1.
