Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gucharmap
I couldn't discover in Gutsy how to enable alt key codes or how to configure xorg.conf (that is not more necessary) in order to type special unicode characters like <A href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cedilha" target="_blank">"cedilla"</A> on "international keyboards". It is relative easy to configure xorg.conf to recognize those special characters using native keyboards but when using IK like the majority of laptops that is a hard task to do. I found some related information on http://www.starr.net/is/type/altnum.htm regarding special characters like "cedilla". There is no documentation in Gnome or Ubuntu foruns about this configuration, only a nearly similar problem on <A href="https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gucharmap/+bug/66047" target="_blank">Bug #66047 <A/> .
