Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

Right now links in Nautilus do not point to the original file or folder,
but rather are treated as separate entities. I am not sure what
advantages this poses, but there are several drawbacks to it.

The first is that spatial nautilus opens two windows instead of one, if
you open both the original folder and the link. Why, if it's actually
just a folder and changes in one affect the other? The second drawback
is that when you set custom icons for your original folder, these do not
appear in the link folder.

** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
