We need to step this bug's priority up big time. With gutsy a few days away from release we'll have many people upgrading from feisty to gutsy, and they will experience this problem as well.
I had this problem after upgrading from feisty to gutsy yesterday. I have my box set to automatically log me in, so it goes through the login process, and then dies when the system kills the remaining processes.
