In kernel 2.6.19 onwards, two new ioctls were added to the v4l2 API: http://www.linuxtv.org/downloads/video4linux/API/V4L2_API/spec/x15102.htm#AEN15973 These may not be available in the R5U870 driver. Yes, they need to be added if not present. But, in addition to this; wouldn't it be better if gstreamer didn't require these ioctls to be present? If the ioctl faisl, it could revert to the old method. The API documentation marks them as experimental, so one can't expect it to work with all hardware right now,
