Hi, I've been having the same problem with Ekiga, but I found a way to solve it for me.
When I tryed to call another person with Ekiga I got a "Security Check Failed" message everytime. So I tryed to start Ekiga from a root user: xhost + su ekiga and I could make calls just fine. After this I thought the problem would be with the system groups, Ekiga has probably created a group that my user doesn't has access to. Then I added my user to the group Voice and everything worked fine.
