The mplayer bug may not be the same one, as it exibits different behaviour (now that I watched the screen). mplayer throws up a video window for a moment with some noisy macroblocks - it plays my longer nonredistributable sample just fine. So it looks like a gstreamer 0.10 problem only. Although the mplayer video thing could possibly be caused by misinitialising something in liba52 I suppose. The sample I've uploaded *may* be corrupted judging by the mplayer problem - but it has the same problem with another nonredistributable file that xine and gstreamer 0.8 play fine.
