Public bug reported: This bug has been tested on two different laptop.
The first one was a 5 years old IBM laptop on Feisty with two built-in mouses. The second was a Dell inspiron 9300 laptop on Gutsy with one built-in mouse and a USB wireless mouse. When accessing the Desktop of an other user through " Change User ", one mouse will completely stop working. Steps to reproduce the bugs are : 1. Have two mouses. 2. Open a session 3. Click the change user button to open another session without closing the actual session. 4. Open another session Eh voila, one of the two mouse isn't working anymore. If you go back to the first user Desktop, the second mouse will suddenly works again. It's pretty bad on a laptop with two built-in mouses because the most used mouse always stop to work. Is it possible that Xorg or another component just handle one mouse for ALL users? The other mouse could belong to the user itself and can't be used by another user as long as the session of that user isn't closed? It sounds like that. ** Affects: gdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Multiple mouses don't work with multiple users https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/125340 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for gdm in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
