Comment: When does Ubuntu main come with two applications with the same function? I can only think of Evolution and Thunderbird. Since this is rare, I think most users (especially non-experts) would not expect to see "Alacarte Menu Editor", since they only want a Menu Editor, no matter what it is. It is simply distracting. Why not say "Gcalctool Calculator"? For experts, they will know what it refers when they look at the menu, e.g. they will know "default" movie player from Ubuntu is Totem. I am not proposing a scheme where all movie players are called "Media Player", but that only the default one with the module-name dropped. So GIMP is called "Image Editor", and if you really go to install TuxPaint, then call it "TuxPaint Image Editor". If you support for Ubuntu, I think you know what is "Movie Player", if the user tells you this is the whole name. Surely, at any time you can Help->About to get its real full name. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
