Actually apport should work on this kernel again. Can you please do the following:
sudo rm /var/crash/* sudo rm /var/log/apport.log /usr/share/apport/testsuite/run-tests 2>&1 | tee /tmp/apport-test.out and attach /tmp/apport-test.out and /var/log/apport.log to bug 122688?
