Public bug reported: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/33820
Affects: gnome-session (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Unconfirmed Description: In Dapper Flight 4 pressing the ACPI power button doesn't switch off the computer as expected. Instead it presents a modal dialog asking whether I wish to shut down/reboot/logout/switch user. This is contrary to Windows, every other Distribution I know and my long established expectation. If I press the power button, ever, it is to switch it off _now_. There is no ambiguity in my mind. It isn't easy to depress the power button without intending to. The last thing I want is a dialog asking 'Didn't you want to logout or do something else, unrelated to pressing the power button?'. If I wanted that, I'd go to Microsoft. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
