Comment: Sorry it is not a bug. There was not a different call stack with a breezy system. The problem was, that my localhost loopback interface was not up running and the connect () syscall blocked until timeout trying to connect the esound daemon on localhost. After enabling the localhost interface the problem disappeared. Trying to connect to esound even if system sounds and esd are disabled is only a design flaw in libgnome.
