Public bug reported:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/30170
Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu)
       Severity: Normal
       Priority: (none set)
         Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
If I try to connect to an ftp service on a server that doesn't have one
(ftp://localhost) I get an error dialog that says:

Nautilus cannot display "ftp://localhost";.
Please select another viewer and try again.

This is bad advice as nautilus ought to know that it failed to connect
and no other program is going to be able to.

A different, more useful, message is given if the host can't be found.
This bug only shows when the host is good but the protocol / service is
not good.
