Public bug reported:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/29390

Affects: gdm (Ubuntu)
       Severity: Normal
       Priority: (none set)
         Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
When /etc/init.d/gdm stop returns nonzero, then gdm won't uninstall.
Perhaps this is intentional, but if so then dpkg needs a "--force
servicehalting" or something. As it is I delete /etc/init.d/gdm with
"sudo rm" and was then able to uninstall.
