Hijack works like
this:
Outgoing e-mail is
tracked by Hijack by the IP address that Imail SMTP service received it from.
Each time a message is received from an IP, the count is increased by one and
then the count is compared to the HOLD1 and HOLD2 count numbers to see if it
is equal or greater.
It helps in 2
ways:
Policy enforcement;
Uses are not allowed to send out bulk e-mail, e-mail to their list of
addresses of their kids school to tell them about a bake sale, e-mail to all
500 relatives telling them about a new baby and so forth.
Virus protection;
if a users computer becomes infected with a virus and starts spewing virus
infected messages by the hundreds, they will be caught.
