We are currently running Declude v1.75 with "Declude JunkMail Status: PRO version registered" and "Declude Virus Status: Standard Version Registered". Our service agreement expired at the end of December 2003.
I am trying to figure out what the most recent Full Version, the most recent Beta Version that we are allowed to be running. If applicable, I would also like to know the most recent interim release we are allowed to run.
You are licensed to run any version of Declude that was released before the Service Agreement expired. We recommend running the latest *released* version before the Service Agreement expired, but you can run a beta or interim if you choose to. However, the old betas/interims are taken offline, so we normally cannot supply you with an old beta/interim.
When I look at the Declude Release Notes list, http://www.declude.com/relnotes.htm, I see:
The last full version released before December 31st, 2003 was 1.75 released July 22nd, 2003. Based on the date I am assuming the 1.75 is the most recent Full Version that we are allowed to run.
That is correct.
The last beta version released before December 31st, 2003 was 1.77 released December 4th, 2003. Are we allowed to run Betas released before our Service Agreement Ended?
Yes, you are allowed to run 1.77, since it was released before your Service Agreement expired.
If we are allowed to do it would you recommend running a Beta 1.77 or should we wait until a full version is released?
Only one of those (running the beta 1.77) is an option if your Service Agreement expired on December 31, and you have not renewed it. However, you do have the option of running 1.75 or 1.77 until the next release comes out, and ordering the Service Agreement at that time (assuming that you will not be in need of support during that time).
Also, are we allowed to run Interim releases that were released before the end of our Service Agreement.
Yes, however:
If that is the case do you know what the last interim release was before the end of December 31st?
No. We do not have old interim releases available. If there is an unusual need for an old beta, we can get it, but not for interims.
If it was up to me I'd sign-up for a new service agreement but the decision makers are not allowing it right now. I would like to run the most recent stable version that is possible.
I can certainly understand that. :)
My recommendation in your case would be 1.75, but if there are any features in 1.77 that you feel you need, that would be my next suggestion. There were a number of bug fixes in 1.78 (see http://www.declude.com/relnotes.htm ).
