Challenge/Response has been covered at length twice recently on this list, and the almost universal informed opinion is that the shortcomings ruin it's applicability to a general E-mail environment.

Aside from that, there is no doubt that you could be better handling the bounce messages as well as the crud that's getting through your system. This is a job for Declude JunkMail Pro, a lot of understanding, and some effort. A default configuration will take care of most of the problem, but to get at the last 10% reliably and to catch rather unique things like virus bounce messages, you really need to dedicate some time to the task, or pay someone else to do it for you.

If you want to explore the idea of doing this yourself, I would recommend that you start by closely monitoring your spam and study it's contents from the headers to the HTML, and look for patterns that you think that you could score reliably, and ask questions/discuss strategies on this list. It won't happen overnight, but it certainly will improve if you work at it.

Hi all,

<RANT>
We got hammered today with "failed delivery" messages, as most of our email
addresses were set as reply-to in a ton of spam :-(

On top of that I have clients complaining about the continuing flood of ads
dealing with those pills for men (name omitted for obvious reasons). It sure
seems like our whole day is spent dealing with email issues, sheesh!

Anyhow, is there any type of Challenge Response tools available for Imail
that you are aware of? I have seen for Unix based servers, but not Win. We
have Declude aggressively deleting at Weight 10, but that is still not
enough.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
