Given the information, it looks like the most likely culprit here is IMail.

I tested one of the D*.SMD/Q*.SMD combinations here, and there were no problems. With nothing suggesting that Declude either hung or crashed, it sounds like this is a case related to the other IMail issues (not calling Declude, or calling Declude multiple times).

There are no hung Declude processes.
