Dear Maintainer,
In the process of trying to teach myself the ropes of Xfce development
I realized that that xfdesktop4-data is missing required copyrigh notices.
backgrounds/README.md lists creative-commons licenses (CC-BY-SA-4.0) for
almost all of Xfce's standard desktop background images. However, the
copyright file in xfdesktop4-data binary package only lists the
GPL license that applies to the xfdesktop4 more broadly.
As requested on the mailing list, I am opening a proper bug for this
and also providing a patch. The patch is relative to the forky/sid version
of the copyright file, but also applies to trixie with only the ending
context changed.
The three oldest attributions (to Pasi) I believe apply even to bullseye
and the next three (to Denis and Katerinra) should apply to bookworm.
A few of the credited users have changed their display names in Xfce's
gitlab since creating the files. I have listed their current name
preferences rather than the at-time-of-submission names given in
in backgrounds/README.md. This changes:
Rose Pierce (rowie324) --> Rowan Amanita (same username)
Denis Kuzminok (DenDrop) --> Denis Kuznetsky (Denmoon)
For most of these contributors a public email is not apparent in Xfce gitlab,
so I have followed the README in including links to their gitlab profiles
in order to clearly identify them.
