I also lost 1, 2 finger tap and vertical scrolling in my synaptics
touchpad, this occurs after re-installing my system using squeeze and
use new version of synaptics.
Using synclient -s or -h to assign or show properties, show me:
Can't access shared memory area. SHMConfig disabled?
