I, too, am plagued by this bug. Everything matches up (X dies, needs
full restart of the computer, same Xorg log files, etc).
Of note is that I switched from Iceweasel to Epiphany per the suggestion
that it could be Iceweasel. However, this morning, after switching my
computer on I had the same problem -- this time it crashed very shortly
after switching to Icedove from Epiphany. It seems to support the
potential libxul connection. Alas living without Icedove would be even
harder than living without Iceweasel for me...
I'd be more than happy for any suggestions or anything you'd like me to try.
