The patch in upstream commit 8e253e1bedfaf4beba3763c1e6b9ef4a706487a3 should fix this issue. Please apply to the Debian package. As this seems to affect other packages (xfce4-xkb-plugin) maybe this bug should be 'serious'? Anyway, please fix this for lenny.
