Hi! I have the same problem on one of my old servers. When I searched on google before last weekend I found this upstream bug:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=16060 Maybe it is the same bug? Downgrading to 1.1.1-8 resolved my problem. I had to download an ubuntu package - i couldn't find it in debian's package pool. /Micke
