Hi Brice, thanks a lot for replying so fast; I use a Viewsonic VP930 via DVI. I tried using a plain VGA cable (it also has a VGA input) but the output is the same. I also modified the xorg.conf file using the lines you specified, it was unfortunately the same problem.. In the end, I tried the xrandr utility, but without success: > xrandr -display :0.0 > Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server > Xlib: No protocol specified
