Could you try xserver-xorg-video-intel 2.3 from experimental ? And maybe a more recent kernel too ? (namely 2.6.25 or 2.6.26-rc) Also, make sure you don't have intelfb or something similar running (what does /proc/fb contain?). In the end, sending your config and log (/etc/X11/xorg.conf and /var/log/Xorg.0.log after the bug appeared) may be good.
