Julien, After some more Google searching, I found that something was weird with xlibs-data/x11-kbd-utils. The latter didn't have anything installed in /usr/bin for me. A reinstall put the proper binaries in the folder. xkbcomp failed because it didn't exist on my system :-). Another user had similar problems, which seem to be related to the deprecation of xlibs-data[1]. Perhaps there is something amiss there. In any case, my issue is resolved. Best regards, Nathan A.
