I can confirm the bug. It happens to me randomly, not able to reproduce. When the problem occurs I have this line logged in /var/log/Xorg.0.log :
(WW) xf86CloseConsole: VT_WAITACTIVE failed: Interrupted system call and also this one in /var/log /daemon.log: Apr 16 15:53:37 debian /usr/sbin/gpm[2144]: O0o.oops(): [daemon/open_console.c(55)]: Apr 16 15:53:37 debian /usr/sbin/gpm[2144]: Opening console failed.
