Hi, I think I may have run into this bug. No anti-aliased text renders on my display, but if I hit alt-f2 I can run xterm fine.
My video card: 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:2a02] (rev 03) Putting 'Option "AccelMethod" "XAA"' in xorg.conf fixes the problem.
