Just sending this to the debian guys as a heads up. I ran into this while building Fedora for ia64. From looking at the bug I doubt it is distro specific so you are likely to hit this as well. If you don't see the problem I would be interested in hearing that and I will try to figure out if this is something Fedora specific.
