what did fn-f4 do?  switch displays?  The bios shouldn't be touching
the hw behind the driver's back.  what you'll want to do is add a
script that gets run when the acpi event for fn-f4 comes in does the
proper thing (xrandr --auto or whatever).

probably some bad bios interaction.  Hopefully I can get that sorted
out in the coming weeks.
