I'm having the same issue with "greedy" vs the ATI driver. There is a patch in
bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12520 that fixes it for me. Actually, I
had corruption in several places and this fixes them all. See:

Basically, I added the change from 12520, and rebuilt the deb, and all of my
corruption issues with greedy went away.
