Package: gdm
Version: 2.18.2-1
Severity: important
This gdm restart problem seems to straddle gdm and xine packages. I
never have this problem when Totem isn't playing something, regardless
of how fast I switch panels, which suggests an interaction.
If you can classify it squarely as a xine problem, please route this
to that package's maintainer(s).
When running Totem with an mpeg2 (25 fps video + audio) playing, if
one switches desktop panel quickly, *boom*. Back to the greeting
screen with all applications closed (hurrah - signals propagated and
apps did their best when the display manager choked).
I've also had this misbehavior with streaming content in iceweasel via
the plugin.
I am running latest "testing" version (per "apt-get update" + dry run
of dist upgrade). Don't know why system information includes "sid"
since neither "sid" nor "unstable" are in /etc/apt/sources.list.
Reportbug noted there was a newer version of gdm, but wouldn't that
pull me into unstable ("sid")?
