Maybe the software does not prepare the hardware correctly before suspend, then the hardware state is screwed after resume and the software is not able to restore it to a correct state even when reloading kernel modules and X. Unfortunately, the support for suspend still has lots of bugs and I don't see a lot of fixes coming from upstream... Are you doing suspend-to-disk or to-ram? Does it help if you switch to VT console before suspend? Does suspend work better with XAA? Brice
