I'll try to describe the problem. Background - When xterm is built to support the toolbar, that adds another level to the widget hierarchy. xterm's layout computation does some special things to make the screen size in terms of whole characters. Part of the problem is in xterm, part in the X libraries. Some window managers (the ones that don't _negotiate_ layout changes, but dictate) aggravate things. Problem - One of the ways to see the problem is to switch font-sizes, e.g., making the vt100 window narrower than the toolbar. Switching back/forth, e.g., with shift keypad plus/minus, for _certain_ screensizes will cause the rows/columns of the vt100 window to change. In some cases, it will shrink, and cannot easily be restored. In testing, I set xterm's border to be a different color, making it simpler to see the problem. -- Thomas E.
