Hi,
Particularly on a loaded system (above say 1.5), switching into or out
of X (i.e. to- or from- a virtual console) has a habit of causing X
to crash; sometimes it will restart, sometimes it'll just hang. In
both cases, it is then impossible to change back to a virtual console
- you just get a more or less distorted view of the X display (which
is unresponsive; hitting alt-f7 to get back to X works though). I
didn't have this problem with X 3. I have an ATI Xpert98 card (and a
voodoo2 card, but I use the ati x module).
Thanks,
Matthew
