Package: xprt-common
Version: 0.0.9.final-2
Severity: grave
Tags: sid
Justification: renders package unusable
Seems like that there's something wrong with the preinst or postinst
scripts...
Here's a copy-and-paste of the apt-get session:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo apt-get -u install xprt-common
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
xprt-common is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 499 not upgraded.
2 not fully installed or removed.
Need to get 0B of archives.
After unpacking 0B of additional disk space will be used.
Setting up xprt-common (0.0.9.final-2) ...
/bin/ksh: off: bad number
invoke-rc.d: initscript xprint, action "start" failed.
dpkg: error processing xprt-common (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of xprt-xprintorg:
xprt-xprintorg depends on xprt-common; however:
Package xprt-common is not configured yet.
dpkg: error processing xprt-xprintorg (--configure):
dependency problems - leaving unconfigured
Errors were encountered while processing:
xprt-common
xprt-xprintorg
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
Since mozilla-firefox now requires xprt-xprintorg to print, and Firefox
couldn't print now (as well as xprt-common won't install at all), I'm
bumping up the severity level.
Regards,
Bill

Closing since the submitter does not use Debian anymore and thinks it
might be fixed anyway, and other people involved did not reply to my
ping within a month.
