"i810" should be replaced with "intel" with the latest driver. But it shouldn't explain your problem. > Section "Monitor" > Identifier "Generic Monitor" > Option "DPMS" > HorizSync 30-107 > VertRefresh 48-120 > Modeline "1280x1024" 151.83 1280 1360 1544 1888 1024 1024 1027 1072 > EndSection > HorizSync, VertRefresh and Modeline shouldn't be needed anymore, please comment these lines. > Section "Screen" > Identifier "Default Screen" > Device "Intel Corporation 82865G Integrated Graphics > Controller" > Monitor "Generic Monitor" > DefaultDepth 24 > SubSection "Display" > Depth 24 > Modes "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480" > These "Modes" should not be needed anymore, please comment this line. > Section "DRI" > Mode 0666 > EndSection > This is the default in Debian now. > (II) intel(0): Kernel reported 110336 total, 17 used > (II) intel(0): I830CheckAvailableMemory: 441276 kB available > (==) intel(0): VideoRam: 131072 KB > (II) intel(0): Attempting memory allocation with tiled buffers and > large DRI memory manager reservation: > (II) intel(0): Allocating 7164 scanlines for pixmap cache > (II) intel(0): Attempting memory allocation with tiled buffers and > small DRI memory manager reservation: > (II) intel(0): Allocating 7164 scanlines for pixmap cache > (WW) intel(0): Failed to allocate texture space. > (II) intel(0): Attempting memory allocation with untiled buffers and > large DRI memory manager reservation: > (II) intel(0): Allocating 7164 scanlines for pixmap cache > (II) intel(0): Attempting memory allocation with untiled buffers and > small DRI memory manager reservation: > (II) intel(0): Allocating 7164 scanlines for pixmap cache > (WW) intel(0): Failed to allocate texture space. > (WW) intel(0): Not enough video memory. Disabling DRI. > This looks kind of strange but is probably unrelated. 128Mo looks high for a i865. Random guess: is it related to something like the AGP Aperture in the BIOS? What kinds of screens are plugged into this board? VGA? xbase-clients 7.2 is not in unstable yet, but if you could install the one in experimental, you could send us the output of xrandr (or xrandr --verbose) so that we quickly get the list of supported resolutions and refresh rates.
