Alright, sorry for taking such a long time. I have the new version installed now: $ apt-show-versions |grep video-ati xserver-xorg-video-ati/experimental uptodate 1:6.6.191-1 and restarting X after suspend now works fine and is in the right solution even with MergedFB not set (neither to true nor false). johannes
