hello everybody of debian-testing community,
im suffering from the same issue. i followed the steps mentioned by
manfred but unfortunately i was not able to accomplish compiling. i get
lots of "not declared", "wrong parameter" errors. looks like mismatching
function()s' prototyping and defining. which version of linux-kernel,
kernel-headers and drm-source did you successfully glue together, i.e.
was you able to compile and "modprobe" the drm module with? im having
kernel 2.6.15, headers 2.6.8, and the drm source from march 2nd i think.
and could the gcc version be of some importance?
moreover, i dont understand why the Makefile of the drm source (the one
in "drm/linux-source/") wants to store some kind of "LINUX-SOURCE" path,
isnt the drm module an out-of-kernel module which only requires
linux-headers to compile?
any help greatly appreciated and have many thanks for your assistance
and patience with quite a debian-"youngster". ;)
ps: im looking forward to try Beryl opengl accelerated desktop and to
get the feeling how work goes with having multiple overlapped windows in
view at once with transparency. :)
regards
thomas
