Well, this is a very current installation of Etch. Maybe there still is a problem, either in dependencies or in the definition of the gnome-desktop task. Would be great if someone from the Gnome team could check this. Michael: Exactly which image did you use for your installation (full URL if possible)? Was it a full CD image, a netinst or something else? When did you download it?
