Package: xorg
Version: 1:7.0.22
Severity: normal

Trying to configure Xorg for 16 bit colourdepth instead of 24. I ran
dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg as suggested in
the forum. Debconf was indeed set to high, but lowering it to normal did not
help at all, just as stated.

Reconfiguring will tend to the graphics card with resolution, keyboard and
mouseprotocol. But it will not touch
colourdepth. The thread that lead to this report:
http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?t=7751&sid=20f31fb7728ec63540ba8f48c26c1564

I changed Defaultdepth by hand in the xorg.config from 24 to 16. But it is
still looking unnecessary good and
hogging resources.

Best regards, Wed
